Wedding Day Inspiration

This past weekend marked our second weekend looking at wedding venues and I officially have wedding fever. To be totally candid, wedding planning is fun and exciting, but a tiny bit stressful. There is so much to focus on, in a short amount of time, and it’s only the beginning. We want the very best and we also want to make everyone happy.

So we’re still trying to find our happy medium and create a dream wedding that meets both our needs and wishes as well as our families’. And while we do so, I thought I’d share some photos that are currently inspiring our dream wedding look. All these photos and way more can be found on my Pinterest board. And the first two photos were taken by the extremely talented Jana Williams, who will be shooting our engagement session next month. I absolutely adore her work!

There’s nothing too mind blowing about wearing florals in the Springtime; yet the pattern is still so refreshing that once the season comes around it’s hard to resist. I love this London Times dress because of its vibrant colors and charming silhouette. I thought it was perfect as a day dress for wedding season (and if you’re in your twenties or thirties you know it well). Life Lately – Live for Weekends

I dont need a vacation, but I need a vacation; lately I live for the weekends. The school semester just reached its halfway point and that, in itself, completely freaks me out. I enjoy my breaks (a little too much) and the weekends even more. But hey, you only live once. These photos remind me that Spring is around the corner and I can’t help but be cheery. Happy Friday!

Flower Display

I’m not quite sure where their cheery magic stems from (pun intended), but few things make me happier than a $10 bouquet of roses from the Flower District in New York. With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, I thought I’d share my tips for keeping flowers healthy and beautiful.

1. Take bouquet out of wrapper (Okay, this step is obvious).

2. Snip off the end of the stems (or more if you’re fitting the flowers into a short vase).

3. Create a grid using tape. This will keep the flowers spread out and in place. Then fill vase 1/4 way with fresh water.

4. Place flowers into the squares on your “grid”. Make sure to water daily!

Life Lately

Yesterday was my birthday, but the great thing about it falling on a Thursday is that I’ll just have to celebrate all weekend. So these next couple of days will be filled with a few of my favorite things: fancy dinners with loved ones, cupcakes, shopping, and lounging poolside. It’s one of the last weekends I can fully enjoy before school starts again at the end of August, so I plan on taking advantage of it. As for now, here are some photos from my life lately.
