Outfit – Swan Lake

When I was little, my parents took me to see Swan Lake and after that I always wanted to be a ballerina. I was mesmerized by the tall slender dancers in their delicate white ballet outfits. Today the classic dance still inspires my fashion choices, as also seen here. I love that tulle skirts are back in style, and I’ve been searching for the perfect one that does not overwhelm my frame. Although this skirt is not tulle, the fragile material and feathered layers give off the grown-up girlish look for which I was aiming. And all white paired with a turquoise necklace and a delicate ring and sparkling bracelets completed it.

Outfit – Pink Ruffles

I wore pink ruffles out on a double date on Saturday night. I’m a bit of a homebody and appreciate my nights in with cozy pajamas and a good movie a little too much. But we make an effort to go out at least twice a week, and I never have regrets. It’s also a reason to get dolled up. For this night, I chose a bright pink dress to match my happy mood. (Who isn’t happy on a Saturday?) We had our friends over for appetizers and wine (spinach profiteroles & chablis) before heading out to one of our favorite restaurants.

Uptown Girl

I made a deal with the paparazzi outside Lincoln Center during NYFW. They could snap my photos, as long as they took some on my camera as well. It totally worked out because Josh was away that weekend. Needless to say, I wore this outfit to a couple of shows on Saturday. It’s funny, the more you stand out in ridiculous ways (like this guy I saw wearing a lace black maxi), the more they want to take your picture. At night, I attended Lulus.com Style Studio where I got my nails done by Jamberry and Lulus.com head stylist Cara (who was so sweet) styled an outfit for me to take home. Such a fun weekend!

Valentine Dress

The dreamer in me plans my outfits for special events and even holidays way in advance. For our Valentine’s Day dinner date, I’ll be wearing this maxi. Navy, green, and white is a refreshing and unexpected contrast from the shades of pinks and reds on everyone else and the length of the dress is romantic in its own way. Because I’ll be going straight from class to dinner, I’ll dress it down during the day with a long cardigan, and then show off the neckline when the sun sets.
