GIRL AROUND TOWN

Some weeks just fly by and this past week was one of them. Spring is fully in the air in the city with beautiful days in the 70s in the beginning of the week and big thunderstorms later (both of which I love). I’m getting ready for the end of the semester which is slightly sad but very exciting. We looked at apartments last weekend, and had a change of heart. So now, we’re planning a renovation in our apartment and that’s been a bit of a headache. But I know good things are coming ahead, including a few weeks off in May and some perfect excuses to redecorate after our apartment is finished. So, anyway, while my free time is spare there are always fun moments mixed in. Tomorrow night Josh and I are going to a Broadway show with his family and on Sunday we have an engagement party to which I’m looking forward. And then there’s this  mix of little things that are keeping me happy currently.

Life Lately – Live for Weekends

I dont need a vacation, but I need a vacation; lately I live for the weekends. The school semester just reached its halfway point and that, in itself, completely freaks me out. I enjoy my breaks (a little too much) and the weekends even more. But hey, you only live once. These photos remind me that Spring is around the corner and I can’t help but be cheery. Happy Friday!

Yesterday, Josh and I headed to the outskirts of Brooklyn to have lunch with my grandmothers. It was a welcomed change from our typical weekends spent exploring Manhattan and so nice to see my family. The weather showed signs of Spring, so we took advantage of it with a walk by the bay…and then headed home and had a leisurely night in watching To Rome With Love. I traded in my usual dress and heels for a more casual look: soft skinny jeans (which have been a weekend uniform lately), a black and silver bracelet stack, and my new favorite beaded ombre top for a little bit of glam.

Life Lately – The Start of March

I always mistakenly associate the start of March with Spring. Although the days are beginning to lengthen, it’s still so cold outside and snowing. It’s around this time that I start to get cabin fever and therefore wander around the city after my classes. It’s the ideal remedy that breaks up the drawn out and often seemingly routine days. A little shopping, coffee in a new cafe, or a mid-week dinner out also does the trick and fills the weekdays with necessitated liveliness.

Life Lately – Recovering

I’m finally feeling like myself again (except for a bit of a hoarse voice, which honestly, is way sexier than my usual 5-year old Minnie Mouse tone). This past week was centered on recovering from my terrible cold, which meant that I was pretty dull all week long. Fortunately, I mustered up enough energy to attend classes and a few meetings, meet Amy of Leopard & Lillies for coffee on Tuesday, and also have dinner last night with some college friends I hadn’t seen in way too long. A combination of old and new friends + lots of orange juice and hot tea was just the trick I needed to get well and get out. Happy weekend!
